About the session
If you are in need of relaxation and releasing stress, this workshop is for you! Practice some self care and learn invaluable techniques to look after your mental health through the power of mindfulness to implement into your existing daily routines and activities.
The purpose of the workshop is not only to hold space for you to let go of whatever you need to and practice some replenishing self care, but also to help you understand how to implement techniques we learn into your everyday life without having to fork out extra time that you don’t have to meditate.
You will surely leave feeling relaxed, calm and ready to face the day ahead.
What to expect
An engaging interactive workshop in a safe and friendly atmosphere with candles, fairy lights, scented oils and relaxing music. Taught through meditations, stories, poems, breathing techniques, visualisations, written activities, conversation, and more! This friendly, safe environment will allow you to experience your emotions and reflect deeply on your experience so that you leave feeling connected to yourself and others.
Activities of past workshops have included:
Getting creative and filling in our tree of values and importance
Reimagining our to-do list so that it is more in alignment with our values, rephrasing ‘should’ and ‘have-to’ as ‘get to’ and ‘choose to’
Variety of meditations including chocolate meditation, walking meditation in the Ouseburn, loving kindness meditation using our own affirmations we have created during the session, body scan meditation for relaxation
Discussions about how we can use techniques from the workshop to implement into our everyday life
Understanding the difference between formal and informal mindfulness
Breathing techniques such as box breathing, balloon breathing, diaphragmatic breaths, and extended exhales, each with explanations for their uses and importance
